Region of Waterloo Public Health and Emergency Services

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked with Region of Waterloo Public Health and Emergency Services to lead critical initiatives aimed at protecting the health of the community. My primary responsibility was to support the planning, launch, and operational management of over 50 COVID-19 vaccination clinics across the Kitchener-Waterloo region.

This included organizing large public vaccination sites and also setting up specialized workplace vaccination clinics for essential workers. I collaborated with major employers such as the Toyota Manufacturing Plant in Cambridge, the Loblaws Distribution Centre, and Conestoga Farms to deliver on-site vaccination programs, helping reduce transmission risks among critical workforce populations.

My role involved cross-sector coordination with municipal partners, healthcare organizations, emergency services, and private sector stakeholders to ensure that clinic operations were efficient, accessible, and aligned with evolving public health priorities. I managed logistics, staffing, patient flow design, reporting, and real-time operational troubleshooting.

The success of these vaccination efforts was instrumental in improving vaccine uptake among high-risk groups and mitigating the spread of COVID-19 during one of the most critical periods of the pandemic.

This experience reinforced the importance of operational leadership, cross-sector collaboration, and adaptive crisis management in delivering large-scale public health initiatives.
